GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A new Red Cross van is traveling the country, and Thursday afternoon it arrived in Grand Junction.
There are two prototype Red Cross vehicles touring the Western and Eastern parts of the United States.
The van is designed for delivering warm meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and various supplies to disaster areas.
The Red Cross vehicle is traveling to see all the chapters and get volunteers input on what they liked and disliked about the new van.
"There's some good feedback coming from the volunteers of things they've always wanted to have in their vehicle; some reliability, a really good size. The really neat thing about this is the Red Cross is looking for input from the volunteers," said Eric Myers, executive director of Western Colorado American Red Cross.
Officials at the local chapter say their current vehicle is in good shape, and don't anticipate getting a new van anytime soon.
