Recall Issued for Organic Baby Spinach

SALINAS, Calif.- Potential salmonella contamination has forced Taylor Farms Retail to recall certain organic spinach products.

The products being recalled in Colorado are 5-ounce clamshell packages of "Private Selections" Organic Baby Spinach with the UPC code 0-11110-91128-5. They have a "best by" date of May 25, 2012 on the lower right portion of the front label. Affected packages will have a package code of either TFRS 130B 1503 KT34 or TFRS 130B 1803 KT34.

Also being recalled are 10-ounce clamshell packages of "Marketside" Organic Baby Spinach with the UPC code 6-8113132900-2 and a "best by" date of May 25, 2012.

Those who have purchased theses products are urged to dispose of them.

Purchasers may also contact Taylor Farms Retail at 866-508-7048.

To date, there have been no reported illnesses in Colorado or other states where the product was received.

40% of the produced water that is dumped into the rivers from the natural gas drilling companies, probably has something to do with this.
