ASBURY PARK, N.J. - A few days after the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary, Rassmussen Reports surveyed 1,000 adults nationwide and says 86 percent of people would like to see more done to identify and treat mental illness.

Of those surveyed, 48 percent say they strongly believe action to treat mental health issues will do the most to prevent mass shootings like that in Connecticut.

More strict gun control laws were supported by 27 percent of those surveyed.

15 percent stood by putting limits on violent movies and video games.

10 percent were undecided.
