GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Around 2,000 pumpkins, gourds and corn are for sale to raise money for Youth Ministries. The money raised will help send them to a mission in Peru.

The pumpkins are priced from as little as $1 up to $40, depending on the size.

"Last year we had to get a second load because our patch ran so low, so we usually do get rid of at least 2,000 if not more," said Emily Kempton, Youth Ministries director at First United Methodist Church.

The church hopes to make $7,000 this year.

The church is also trying to raise an extra $7,000 for the trip by having the pastor live outside on a platform until it's raised.

A street dance was also held Sunday night to help raise money.
