Protest Planned Against Gov. Hickenlooper Tomorrow

GRAND JUNCTION Several local groups upset about the signing of three gun control bills on Wednesday plan to show their anger at Governor Hickenlooper tomorrow when he visits Colorado Mesa University.

Governor Hickenlooper will be visiting Grand Junction for the annual Club 20 meeting.

On Wednesday, Hickenlooper signed bills that will require gun buyers to get a background check and will place a magazine limit on guns across the state.

Some local residents feel the Governor made a huge mistake.

"For the most part, I think everyone is disappointed in Gov. Hickenlooper for the fact that these bills were targeted at law abiding citizens," said Kevin King of Mesa County Patriots. "They only embolden the bad guys and the evil people out there. They have access to guns."

Mesa County Patriots will be joining the Pro Second Amendment Committee and Freedom Colorado in the protest Saturday.

The protest begins at 11 A.M. at the intersection of 12th and Elm.

King is hopeful 500-1000 people will attend so Hickenlooper gets the message.

Perhaps King has the moral fortitude to point out the very odd relationship between Hickenlooper and the father of recently paroled white supremacist/alleged killer of the head of Colorodo's prisons? Then he can lead the charge for western Colorado statehood.....one can hope.

JUST SAY "NO" TO AGENDA 21

Need a serious discussion about slicing off eastern Colorado so they can keep slouching toward their fascism. Then forming our own state of Western Colorado or joining a state more aligned to our clingy Constitutional beliefs, like Utah or Wyoming. Going to be difficult as they desire our water, natural gas and other resources. But if we succeded in our own state, only 6 more to go before Obama gets his 57 states.

How about constitutional debate! We have been given the right to bear arms not for the purpose of hunting and fighting criminals. We are given the rights to have guns to protect ourselves against governments. When we fought the British it was because they wanted forced taxation without representation, and the reason they lost was because we had arms. Don’t be fooled this is nothing more than a good “crises not being wasted” for the purpose of neutralizing our ability to protect ourselves against an all consuming government.

Can't make it and its 11am sat.So ill throw some questions around. Why am I a criminal now? I have 30 round mags and some are not dated and all can be modified to accept more rounds. I have other mags that can be modified as well so that make me a criminal under these laws. I should be arrested now because I have sold weapons in the past with only a proof of sale so sorry I can't prove it was before the law was implemented. Has the demos made me felon yet? Just for being a law abiding citizen till these were passed? Are these laws going to even be used to help anyone? A weapon is a weapon and at no point in history even before the invention of a gun has mass killing not been present. Does disarming me make you feel safer? How does it feel to have your door kicked open and gangs with fully auto weapons start shooting? How does it feel to have the POLICE kick open your door with there fully auto military acquired weapons feel?

Gun restrictions, Marajuana, Same Sex Marriage, What about the important issues. JOBS, ECONOMY, BUDGET. When is our government going to focus on what is truely important. The path they are taking is really a waste of time and effort. They are at the most, knee jerk bandaids. By the way, none of my guns have ever snuck out and killed anyone. It is not a GUN issue but rather a PENELTY issue. Now we want to do away with the death penalty. Where is the deterrant to being a criminal? They have nothing to fear for breaking the law. I think I will keep my gun just in case my government continues to eat away at what made us strong in the first place. If our founding fathers came back, What would they think of where we are now?????

How do we start the process of impeaching Hickenlooper? He doesn't deserve the title of Governor. This isn't New York, this isn't California. Look at Australia with their bans on guns. Look at Illinois/Chicago and their gun laws...these laws will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Anyone with Common sense would know that!

Sorry, but the entire population of this area could attend and the message wouldn't be received. They are Marxists and therefore know what is best for everyone. They think we should be thanking them for saving ourselves from ourselves.

Time to fire Hickenlooper and his band of whacko cronies! His liberal agenda will lead to nothing but pain and misery!
