Project C.U.R.E. Founder Thanks Grand Junction Volunteers

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The founder of Project C.U.R.E., an organization that ships medical supplies overseas to those in dire need, stopped in the Grand Valley today to meet with local volunteers.

Dr. James W. Jackson started the organization after witnessing children die of treatable illnesses due to a lack of proper medical equipment and supplies.

Jackson says Project C.U.R.E. passed the $1 billion mark and yet they've barely scratched the surface.

"Project C.U.R.E. has over 15,000 volunteers now around the United States, places just like Grand Junction. And we could never do it, we could never be effective unless we had this kind of grassroots support," Jackson said.

Grand Junction has about 20 volunteers that help collect supplies at the local Project C.U.R.E. warehouse.

Jackson says he's working on a goal to get 25 warehouses in 25 cities.
