DELTA, Colo.- Delta residents rallied Friday to support their right to bear arms.

Folks say they gathered Friday to, as a group, say no to outside entities trying to infringe on their Second Amendment.

Patrons were discussing ways to have their voices heard by lawmakers.

They encouraged one another to write, call and email their elected officials to state their opinion.

"We're not addressing the real problem, which is mental health issues and crime. The real people that will take a hit are the people that are not going to go out and commit a crime, so why should
those people have to suffer through this? That's why he have to stand up and say no,"said Jim Kerschner, organizer of the rally.

The group plans on having more gatherings in the future.
