I don't understand. According to the left the only way for safety is to completely ban any firearm. These people bought firearms to this gathering yet nobody was hurt. What happened?

What left are you talking about? No one I know is pushing for a complete ban on guns. Do you really think you do your side any good when you make claims about the opposition that they don't make? There may be some radical democrats who say that, but they aren't the majority, and that isn't what "the left" is pushing for. What you're doing is like using Westboro Baptist as representatives of all Republicans. Would you consider that a fair generalization?

Well....The article says the guns were unloaded. Not very many people considering this is a very conservative area. Why such a low turnout? Hmm... 146,000 people in this county, and you could only muster up a few hundred? What happened? Where is the real outcry from the masses? Seems like maybe the "tea party" has fizzled out. Your claims are comical. As I remember the 2008 election the Republicans had no problem with running a woman for the V.P. position. Hillary ran a brilliant campaign, but was cast aside by the democrat leaders because she was a gal. Hillary is so much more qualified than the community agitator, no question about that. But your party discriminates against ladies so she will not be in office in 2016. It is that simple. Sure is a shame the best diatribe progressive have is to shrilly scream "Your a racist!" It shows the weakness of their leaders.

It's always fun to read these comments. The people who try to use facts and logic vs the purveyors of snotty snark. Where else in Mesa County did so many people come out in 40 degree weather (with a substantial wind chill)? The size of the crowd was really impressive considering the the conditions.

Pretending to be worried about the currency collapsing is exactly what laughable. So buying all your beloved weapons at no matter what price your favorite sporting goods stores decides to charge you is ok? Not to mention all the ammo that vanishes in the dust while "practicing"? I laughed so hard when I saw that the price of these weapons were going up at an incredible rate, yet all the "patriots" didn't mind at all. Suckers! You will still all buy your kids the latest electronic gadgets, keep your satellite or cable, and driving your big gas guzzling trucks! Oh and don't forget to keep complaining about paying taxes, and then wondering why there is sidewalks missing around the schools, and less bussing available. But hey at least you got rid of those pesky marijuana dispensaries as extra tax revenue. Keep on Tithing! haha

There is no pretending about it. The pending currency collapse is a mathematical certainty. One only need to study the history of the Weimar Republic to see where this is going. As far as the price of guns at the sporting goods store, the price is determined by the supply and the demand. Jeff, you can find details about that in any basic economics primer. Another concept of basic economics is the "invisible hand" as described by Adam Smith. The purchase of the guns, trucks, gasoline, etc is a positive action and provides jobs for people supplying those commodities for consumption. The effect is a snowball one as the factory and refinery workers will spend their salaries on commodities and goods further advancing the economy and the society in general. Tithing is to an organization that doesn't have the inherent inefficiency of the government and is a very efficient way of distributing funds for charity.
