President Obama Announces Support of Same-Sex Marriage

WASHINGTON- President Barack Obama has declared his support for gay marriage, becoming the first U.S. President to endorse the politically explosive idea.

The president revealed his support in an interview with ABC News.

Obama said that he had hesitated on formally backing gay marriage, in part because he thought that civil unions would be sufficient.

In the interview, he said, "It is important for me personally, to go ahead and affirm that same-sex couples should be able to get married."

President Obama says he came to the conclusion over the course of several years of talking to family and friends.

He also added that he is sensitive to the fact that for a lot of people, the word "marriage" is something that invokes very powerful traditions.

If there was ever any doubt that this is the most worthless chief executive we have ever had, it has been removed. He has no values and no compass except for his own desire to get re-elected. I respect the majesty of the Office, but I deplore the occupant.

Wow he has all of the sudden had an epiphany that he supports gay marriage. Must be the election coming up, he is needing all the votes he can get. He has already ruined our economy and anyone that would re-elect this man needs to seriously get some therapy!

Same old c r a p. Disagree with anything the left or your leader does and out come the bogotry charges and name callng. When people like Insane tell me I am not entitled to my opinion it only serves to strengthen my belief that we are in fact in VERY deep trouble. So far, on every front the Big O has proven to be the worst president that we have ever had because he cares for only one thing: himself.
