Powerhouse Gym Closed For Good

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A gym that's been in business in Grand Junction for five years is now closed.

Powerhouse Gym shut its doors for good on Aug. 25.

The owner, Norrice Derner, says they closed on such short notice because their adjustable loan expired and the bank wouldn't extend it.

The 24-hour gym had between 800 and 1,000 members.

Derner says all of the members will get a refund if they paid in advance and no one will be charged extra.

"They didn't pay for their first month, so in August everyone that was being billed was actually being billed for July. No billing has gone on for September. It's been canceled," said Derner.

In the meantime, other gyms have created deals for previous Powerhouse members.

Anytime Fitness is offering free enrollment along with two free months to former Powerhouse members.

Crossroads Fitness and Gold's Gym are also offering free enrollment and trial runs.
