MESA COUNTY, Colo.- The fall weather is bringing everyone outside to enjoy the cooler temperatures. Powderhorn Ski Resort invited hundreds up to check it all out on Color Sunday.

Around 500 people went to Powderhorn over the weened to celebrate the changing colors on trees and participate in activities.

The annual Color Sunday gave residents a chance to participate in a 10K race, 3K team challenge or kids race.

They also had disc golf and ski lift rides going.

The resort experienced a recent change in management, and visitors say they are also noticing the changes.

"It's bigger, it's festive and there's more signage. There's more people, music, food and the fresh paint; the whole atmosphere is that much nicer," said Jason Breman, a Grand Valley resident.

"I think it means a lot to people that they can come out here and enjoy the fall foliage," said Gabrielle Michna, sales and marketing manager for Powderhorn Ski Resort.

Passes are now available for a discounted price of $439 until Nov. 15.

Go to the lodge or online at www.powderhorn.com to purchase.

The resort plans to open Dec. 15, but depending on the weather, it could be as early at Dec. 1.
