Powderhorn Preps for Fall and Winter
KREX News Room
MESA, Colo., Powderhorn Mountain Resort officials have been hard at work this summer preparing for fall festivities and the winter ski season.
One improvement is an expanded entry road into the resort. They've also purchased two brand new Snowcats that will help with grooming. Additionally, crews have been working on the infrastructure within their snowmaking system and have also been mowing down the slopes.
Officials are also preparing for fall festivities that will happen later this month.
"Fall Festival is kind of the precursor to Color Sunday. We just bring everybody up, this is just a beautiful piece of real estate, it's an awesome time of year to check out the foliage. We'll have the lifts going so you can take a lift ride, we'll have the jump tramp, stuff for kids and live music."
Last year roughly 2,000 people attended the fall events and officials are expecting even more people this year.
Fall Festival is Sept. 21 and 22 and Color Weekend is Sept. 28 and 29.
