KREX News Room
MESA, Colo. The general manager of Powderhorn Mountain Resort is stepping down.
Current Powderhorn general manager, Daren Cole, tells NewsChannel 5 that he is leaving his position due to personal reasons, but will still be involved on a limited basis in the future. Cole is leaving after two seasons.
Sam Williams will be stepping into the position. Williams has been serving as the director of mountain operations for the past two years, and says this will be a natural transition.
"I'm extremely excited about being in this position, I've got a long history with the resort. And I look forward to leading the resort into the future. We've got a great team in place, great people on board, and I think Powderhorn has a great amount of potential."
Williams says the change in leadership will not affect resort activities or plans for expansion in the future.
Cole will be leaving his position on Nov. 1.
