Pot Tourism up for Discussion in Colo. Legislature

by KREX News Room
by Jacklyn Thrapp

DENVER (AP) - Marijuana tourism is one of the biggest questions facing pot regulators in Colorado. A special legislative panel looking at marijuana regulations planned to discuss the question Friday.

The constitutional amendment approved by voters last year allows marijuana use by adults over 21. It doesn't specify whether only Colorado residents can use the drug, prompting speculation about marijuana tourism.

A Colorado task force made up of law enforcement, government officials and marijuana advocates recommended that the state legislature not step in. The task force said out-of-state visitors should be able to buy marijuana as long as they don't take it home. However, many state lawmakers are appalled at the idea of pot tourism.

To all of you who are Amendment 64 supporters, don't you realize that this state and federal government want you to stoned to care. It's a lot easier to take over a people if they are unarmed and high. Dope is not the answer for Colorado or society, wake up!

The "discussion" about marijuana has never been "rational", It always has and probably always will be demonized by those making profits from it being kept illegal. If you were used to making millions, maybe even billions from something, you would fight tooth and nail to keep that going. It's not about the public's safety, or for the children, it's for the MONEY!! All it takes is a little research and a little common sense to realize we have been lied to for decades by those profiting from the prohibition of marijuana.

Progressivism is a dangerous concept, it only leads to misery! Colorado being known for dope is a horrible thing. How embarrassing Amendment 64 supporters should be ashamed of themselves.

Instead of "Colorful Colorado" on the state signs entering Colorado. It should read welcome to Colorado, the dope addicted liberal cess pool!

If lawmakers admit that pot is not dangerous then they have to admit they have been lying to the public since the 30s. What else are they lying about.

Why is it in our society every sporting event, party, festival,concert,holiday,etc.,etc., has alcohol tied to it and no one seems to have a problem with it. In fact we are taught as young children that the use of alcohol is accepted even encouraged in order to "celebrate" every social event we attend. It's time to move on from the "demonization" of marijuana and accept that it is here and it isn't going anywhere.
