GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Grand Junction Police are investigating a late-night armed robbery at the Mountain Ridge Townhomes in Grand Junction, after neighbors witness a crime underway and find themselves in danger.

It happened around 10 p.m. on Monday.

Multiple witnesses tell NewsChannel 5 they heard a shot fired near the homes, which are located at 2680 B 1/2 Road.

“I asked the owner of the house that was getting robbed if he knew the guy and he said he did,” said Chris Larson, witness. “I tried to stop him, and then he turned around and pulled out a gun and shot at us. We took off running and when he ran away too, I came back to look at the car. He then pulled the gun out again, got in the car and took off.”

When officials arrived on scene, the suspects had already fled the area.

No one has been arrested at this time.

Witnesses describe the suspect as a Hispanic male with gold rings, who was driven away by a woman.
