DENVER - The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has expanded a voluntary nationwide recall of some popular brands of tuna.

Tri-Union Seafoods LLC expanded its recall of Chicken of the Sea brand tuna to include 5-ounce cans of Chunk White Tuna in Oil.

The UPC code for the new product being recalled is 0 48000 00195 5. The "Best By" date printed on the bottom of the can is 01/15/17. The product was sold between Jan. 23, 2013, and March 6, 2013.

A limited number of 5-ounce cans of Chicken of the Sea White Albacore Tuna in Water that were bought between February 4 - February 27 are among those recalled.

The seams on the lids of the cans did not meet the company's standards.

A recall was also placed for specific Bumble Bee Chuck White Albacore and Chuck Light Tuna products that were purchased between January 17 - February 28 because the products do not meet proper standards for seal tightness.

Authorities say cans that do not meet seam or seal standards could result in product contamination.
