Police: Testosterone, Needles in Pistorius Bedroom

PRETORIA, South Africa (AP) - Police in South Africa say they would object if a judge grants bail to Olympic runner Oscar Pistorius, who's accused of shooting to death his girlfriend on Valentine's Day.

Police testified at Pistorius' bail hearing today that while searching his bedroom, they found testosterone, needles and .38 caliber ammunition in a safe.

One detective testified that all Pistorius would say after the shooting was that he ``thought it was a burglar.''

Pistorius says he thought he was firing at an intruder. And his attorney says the testosterone is actually an herbal remedy.

An International Paralympic Committee spokesman says Pistorius was drug tested on Aug. 25 and Sept. 8 last year and both were negative.
