Pitkin Tops Healthiest Counties List

DENVER- According to ColoradoHealthRankings.org, Pitkin County is the healthiest county in Colorado.

The rankings take into account such factors as healthy births, premature deaths and quality of life, including overall physical and mental health.

Research was compiled by the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The top five ranked are Pitkin, Douglas, Eagle, Boulder and Summit counties.

Mesa County ranked No. 32. Montrose and Delta Counties Ranked No. 37 and No. 40, respectively.

The worst five ranked are Las Animas, Otero, Rio Grande, Lake and Huerfano counties.

Mineral, San Juan, Kiowa, Hinsdale and Jackson counties were not ranked.
