GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- The man found guilty of beating another man to death with a hatchet received his sentence Wednesday.

A Mesa County judge sentenced 48-year-old Daniel Warner to 22 years in prison for second-degree murder.

Warner pleaded guilty earlier this year to using a hatchet to attack 46-year-old Richard Nelson in May 2011.

Warner told police that Nelson had provoked the attack by beating him and his girlfriend.
