Pennsylvania Skier Dies After Collision at Aspen

ASPEN, Colo.- Officials say a 48-year-old skier from Pennsylvania is dead after a collision with another skier on Aspen Mountain.

Pitkin County coroner's officials said Tuesday that Natalie Egleston died at a hospital Monday of a traumatic brain injury. Her death was ruled accidental.

County officials didn't release her hometown.

Aspen Skiing Co. officials say Egleston was unconscious after the collision with another female skier Monday afternoon. Resort officials say the other skier, whose name wasn't released, sustained minor injuries.

Both skiers were wearing helmets.

Sheriff Joe DiSalvo tells The Aspen Times he was told it appeared Egleston may have stopped to clean her goggles when she was hit by the other skier.


Resort officials say the accident happened on Spar Gulch, just below the exit of an expert run.
