Parachute Man Behind Bars Facing Manslaughter Charge

by Matt Kroschel

Garfield County - A Parachute man was arrested Friday and now faces a manslaughter charge relating to the death of a 30-year-old Battlement Mesa man. Nathanael James Rice, of Parachute, was booked into the Garfield County detention center Friday on charges relating to the shooting death of a man in Garfield County.

Garfield County Sheriff officials said a manslaughter charge does not necessarily mean it was an intentional killing, but refused to elaborate on the ongoing investigation.

Please have compassion, our children read these articles daily to find out what happened to their daddy. They needs to know what happened and why Nathanael James Rice took her father away from them!

"shooting a man to death" sounds like it is was on purpose! I thought this was an "accidental shooting"???? Please use better judgement when writing the headlines for the news anchors!
