Thousands Attend Palisade's Annual Bluegrass and Roots Festival

PALISADE, Colo.- What many call the world's best bluegrass concert will be held in Palisade all weekend long.

About 25 vendors and 20 bands were at the festival, where people could also get a taste of Palisade. They could sample various local grown apricots, cherries, peaches and some original Palisade wine and distilled beverages.

Officials say they hope to raise thousands of dollars to bring back into the community. "In the last few years we've struggled a little bit in terms of making money, so this year we hope to be profitable so that we can put it back into the festival next year," said Richard Sales, town administrator of Palisade.

The bluegrass bands came from all over the nation and many have won awards.

Good news about the successful festival. Bad news about a deceptive headline. Thousands of people and thousands of dollars are two different issues. "Luring Thousands" sounds like people. That's unrealistic even for Palisade.
