Palisade Holds First Farmers Market of the Season

PALISADE, Colo.- Plenty of fresh fruit and other tasty treats can be found at Palisade's Farmers Market.

Over 25 vendors lined Main Street selling local grown fruits, vegetables, handmade jewelry, wine stoppers and even homemade honeycomb.

One visitor came all the way from Utah just to get a taste of Palisade. "We just bought some cherries because we don't have those in our area yet," said David Roper. "We saw some tomatoes and got some other vegetables. They both have unique flavors, the red ones seem to have more meat on the cherry so we like those," he said.

Most of the vendors are local, but officials say some come from other states. Local honey and chocolate truffles made with Palisade's very own wine can also be found.

The Palisade Farmers Market will take place 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Sunday until Sept. 30.
