Palisade Officials Look Into Solar Panel Proposal

PALISADE, Colo.- The Palisade Board of Trustees is another step closer to installing solar panels at the Palisade Water Plant.

During Tuesday's meeting board members heard from project officials who have been looking into interested companies to take on the project.

They also unveiled the name of the solar company they think would be best to work with.

Town officials have suggested Sunsense Solar, which has worked with the city of Grand Junction on a few of its solar projects.

Sunsense would purchase the actual solar panels and would sell that solar energy to the town.

If the plan moves forward, officials estimate an energy savings of at least $10,000 per year.

The board will allow the plan to be viewed by the town attorney, and they will revisit the final proposal on Oct. 23.
