Fire Destroys Building Next to Palisade High School

by KREX News Room
by Daniel Phillips

PALISADE, Colo.- A fire broke out next to Palisade High School early Thursday morning, destroying a science building.

Officials are now calling the fire "suspicious."

The Palisade Fire Department responded to the scene.

The structure was located in an area next to the practice football field, which students use as an outdoor science classroom in the spring.

It had been there for close to two decades.

The building was a total loss; however, the telescopes had already been moved for the winter, so they were not affected by the fire.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire, and no injuries have been reported.

The fire did not interrupt classes, which followed a normal schedule.
