FRUITA, Colo.- Families celebrated Halloween on Saturday with candy and big trucks.

Fruita's sixth annual Truck n' Treat gives kids and families the chance to explore a variety of vehicles in different fields.

More than 50 professional trucks showed up to the event, including oil field, emergency, law enforcement and recreation vehicles.

The event was both fun and educational.

Kids could get a science lesson on board one of the school buses, and they also ventured into a haunted truck.

Kelley Griffin, special events supervisor for the city of Fruita, said, "Of course we'll do it again next year. I think the drivers love it, the kids love it and the city loves it; we bring a lot of people downtown."

The event took place at the Civic Center from 10 a.m. till noon.

Organizers estimate close to 2,000 people came out to this year's Truck n' Treat.
