Outback Steakhouse Sponsors Blood Drive

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Several people exchanged blood for some free blooming onion appetizers Saturday.

St. Mary's Regional Blood Center held a blood drive outside Outback Steakhouse that was sponsored by the chain restaurant from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m Saturday.

Anyone who donated blood received a free coupon to the steakhouse.

"I've just been feeling really healthy and happy lately and I just wanted to give back to the community. If I can save a life, that would be awesome," said Brian Wilson, blood donor.

St. Mary's Officials say they're always in need of blood, and they didn't get as many people to donate Saturday as they would have liked.

To donate blood go to St. Mary's Regional Blood Center Monday through Friday from 7a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 7a.m. to noon. Make sure to eat a couple of hours before donating and bring a photo ID.
