Open Records Bill Awaits Action by Governor Hickenlooper

DENVER (AP)- A bill that would change Colorado's open-records law is on its way to the Governor's desk.

The state House voted 46-19 Thursday for the bill, which aims to make government records easier to access.

If someone doesn't want to inspect the records in person, a government agency would mail, fax or email it to them.

Some Republicans and watchdogs voiced opposition towards the bill, saying it doesn't go far enough to modernize access to open records.
