GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. On Friday a one-vehicle crash knocked out power for two facilities at the Grand Junction Regional Airport.

Grand Junction Police officials say an elderly man in his 80's was driving west on Landing View Lane, when he struck a fence and then hit a power box.

Airport officials say two airport facilities, Twin Otter and the BLM, lost power.

The man driving was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Sgt. Tony Clayton with the Grand Junction PD, said, "And all these other folks are airport personnel, TSA. Obviously you've got a breach in the fence here, it's a security concern of theirs so they're out dealing with that."

Xcel Energy officials report that power was lost at 12:52 p.m. and was back on at 3:02.
