GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- While most of the country had off on Labor Day, not everyone was so lucky, but a local restaurant was hoping to make the day easier.

Olive Garden restaurants across the country, including the one in Grand Junction, delivered free meals to those who had to work on the holiday, including first responders and hospital employees.

It was a way of showing appreciation for all they do.

"No matter what time of day or holiday, they're here taking care of everybody else and they put everyone else's needs ahead of them, so it's nice to be able to give back to the community. Especially Olive Garden, we're such a big company. It's nice, we can use some of our resources to give back to the community," said Andrea Hollandsworth, lead host at Olive Garden.

Those working in the Community Hospital emergency room got to chow down on lasagna, spaghetti, salad and breadsticks.

This was the 11th year Olive Garden delivered meals to those working on Labor Day.
