OLATHE, Colo.- One of the most anticipated summer events wrapped up Saturday in Olathe. People from all over the Western Slope enjoyed the Olathe Sweet Corn Festival.

With dozens of vendors to satisfy anyone's sweet corn tooth, there was no shortage of home-grown fun.

Rifle resident Dale Babcock said, "You have the vendors, you've got a few things for the kids ... a lot of polite people and an alcohol free event."

Sarah Stickler, a Montrose resident, said, "You can only buy it in Olathe and Montrose, only places that grow this sweet corn."

The Olathe Sweet Corn Festival also prides itself in giving nonprofits an opportunity to raise money. Jobs were available to any groups wanting to work.

The festival concluded Saturday night with a fireworks show.
