GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo.- Officials continue to suppress smokey areas of the wildfire that sparked near Highway 13 in Garfield County. The fire is considered 80 percent contained, as officials have not yet secured the entire fire perimeter.

Garfield County fire personnel have been able to keep the flames from spreading past an area of 991 acres.

The fire is burning 15 miles north of Rifle on Bureau of Land Management lands.

The cause is still under investigation, although officials believe the fire is human-caused.

The majority of the remaining workers on scene are scheduled to be released Monday.
