DURANGO, Colo.- Sheriff's officials are looking for a man accused of breaking into the home of a Durango police officer, who fired a shot at the man before he fled.

William Sweetwood and his wife reportedly heard the garage door of their home north of Bayfield open around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Sweetwood grabbed his service handgun while his wife called 911. He reportedly saw the man in the garage and fired at him.

It's unclear whether the bullet struck the man.
