Officials Hope to Improve Portion of I70 Known for Animal Vehicle Collisions

RIFLE, Colo.- The city of Rifle hopes to improve a section of Interstate 70 that is known for its animal vehicle collisions.

According to the Citizen Telegram, Colorado Department of Transportation officials have contracted Ideal Fencing Corp. for a $4.2 million project that will install new wildlife fencing, road guards and ramps along a 24-mile stretch of the interstate between West Rifle and Canyon Creek.

Work on the I-70 improvement will continue through October.
