GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Could you imagine going years without having an identification card? That's been the case for several local residents.
However, officials from Colorado Legal Services in Denver traveled to Grand Junction on Friday, to help dozens of folks receive help in obtaining proper IDs.
These individuals have had trouble setting up bank accounts and even obtaining a job because they didn't have an ID.
“There are some people who have never had an ID or they have been trying for years to get an ID,” said Linda Olson, senior attorney at Colorado Legal Services. “I had a client just recently who said she couldn’t get medical care.”
“It’s very depressing and tiring,” said Sharon Masie, resident looking for an identification car. “I tried everything I know how to do and it just never was good enough for them.”
If you missed out on the event and looking for assistance, officials from the local Colorado Legal Services department say they're happy to help.
They’re located at 200 N. 6th St, in Grand Junction and you can call them at 243-7940.
