by Associated Press

DENVER- Americans finally saw President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney face off in the first presidential debate, which was held Wednesday night at the University of Denver.

The two nominees focused on domestic issues, particularly the economy and taxes.

During the debate, Romney stated that Obama has mischaracterized his tax plan by calling it a $5 trillion tax cut. Obama responded that Romney appears to be backing away from his own plan.

The second half of the debate focused on health care issues.

The candidates will debate two more times. The next event is a town hall meeting in New York. The vice presidential nominees will debate next week.

That was the look of a proficient leader and debater that realizes that he has no competition what-so-ever. It is the look of a winner. There is nothing quite as entertaining as Barry without a teleprompter. "I-I,I,I-I,I"
