President Obama Rallies in Colorado

FORT COLLINS, Colo.- President Obama visited Colorado again as he prepares for the kickoff of the Democratic National Convention.

The visit is part of a campaign swing through battleground state college towns.

It's the first of two trips to the state in less than a week.

On Tuesday night the president spoke to around 13,000 people gathered on the campus of Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

He reminded students returning to class that's there's a lot at stake in the Nov. 6 election, and that they hold a unique power to determine the results.

"I'm here to tell you, don't listen to the cynics. Don't listen to the naysayers. Four years ago, we understood that solving our biggest challenges was going to take longer than one year, or one term, or even one president. But, we went ahead and we got started anyway. We may have a lot to do, but we know the path we're traveling. We know where we need to get going and we know we're gonna get there," explained President Obama.

On Sunday the president is scheduled to appear at an event in Boulder.

Colorado is a key swing state and has been seeing plenty of visits from both political camps.

Polls suggest Obama is leading Romney with college-aged voters in this year's race.
