Nonprofit Raises Awareness on Dangers of Meth

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Also in attendance at the Grand Junction Air Show was a nonprofit organization fighting another battle.

The Colorado Meth Project is a statewide program aimed at reducing methamphetamine use.

The nonprofit uses public service announcements, public policy and community outreach to spread the word on what they are trying to do.

Program manager Jonathan Judge said, "We have made an impact since moment one. We had a woman approach us that lost her daughter to a meth overdose. So we've given out over a thousand wristbands and had some great conversations."

The organization's slogan is "not even once."

The prevention program aims to send the message that trying the drug just once can have serious consequences.
