SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. - DUI officials will be out in full force during the holiday weekend.

The Gore Range DUI Task Force will be cracking down on drinking and driving with the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

Deputies, troopers and officers will be aggressively looking for impaired drivers Friday, Dec. 28 through Tuesday, Jan. 1.

In addition, Mesa County troopers will increase patrols around the Grand Valley during the same time period.

In 2010, more than 10,000 people were killed nationwide in accidents involving an impaired driver.

Of those fatalities, 71 percent occurred when drivers had nearly twice the legal limit of blood alcohol concentration.
