New Website Seeks to Link Patients with Practitioners

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Alternative medicine is expected to reach close to $115 billion dollars worldwide by 2015, industry analysts say.

In the Grand Valley, as residents seek more options for their health care, one local business is helping connect the growing industry with the rising demand.

Complementary and alternative medicine has garnered wide acceptance even in the traditional medical community in the past decade. Because of that, it is now widely practiced in the Grand Valley.

One local couple had trouble finding the help they needed, so they created HealersOfTheValley.com, a website that connects complementary and alternative practitioners with patients seeking more than a doctor's visit.

"We can bridge that gap between practitioners and people who are looking for options. There's so many talented people in the valley and across the nation doing wonderful things. This way, others can find out what they do and where they are," explained Kathie Fingerson, co-owner of DKR Creations, the parent company of the website.

Fingerson says this is the first step in building a comprehensive network of businesses and their specialties that can be easily searched and patroned on the Western Slope.-

Fingerson's business of helping other alternative medicine businesses took 200 hours to create, as well as the care and guidance of the Business Incubator Center in Grand Junction to grow.

Nationally, experts say more than half of the population receives alternative medical care. In addition, with more insurance companies covering these non-traditional practices, that number is expected to grow, which would further increase demand in the Grand Valley.

This is fabulous! I know I've had a hard time finding someone who really knows the Zodiac. I suffer from a constellation of problems. If my medical chart can be integrated with my astrology chart, I'm all for it. The heavens know how much money we can save. Horoscopes complement stethoscopes in the multiverse. Alchemy.com just isn't adequate.

I would trust these practitioners before I would trust some Fabian Socialist affiliated with the local Healthcare/Marxism complex!
