New Solar Farm Gets Green Light

Planning Commission Approves Permit

Grand Junction - The Grand Junction Planning Commission gives the green light to a new solar farm right here in the Grand Valley. Grand Valley Power officials say they are looking to get approval of a permit to let them begin to construct an electrical solar farm near the Grand Junction Regional Airport.

The plant will allow people to lease panels instead of having to have them installed on their own homes. Officials say it will give their customers more options.

Officials say the plant will put out enough power for about 40 homes and the project should begin construction this summer.
