New Law Reduces Animal Impounding Fee

by KREX News Room
by Danielle Kreutter

DENVER A new law will relieve animal owners from unnecessary impoundment fees, and save local government and humane societies thousands of dollars.

The new law will enable owners who have had their animals taken away to be able to not only challenge the fairness of the impoundment costs, but also fight for probable cause of why the animals were taken away.

Supporters say it will ensure animal owner property rights are protected and it will save state agencies and humane societies impoundment costs.
