New Details Released in Glen Road Shooting Incident

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Authorities have released more information about the shooting incident that happened Saturday afternoon which ended in four people being sent to the hospital.

Police have arrested 21-year old Michael Joseph Renteria Jr. on charges of attempted first degree murder, second degree assault, felony menacing and reckless endangerment.

A police affidavit says that the incident occurred after a group of people, including Renteria Jr., came to 476 Glen Road to pick up a child.

There was a dispute and witnesses say the individuals Renteria Jr. was with started beating people with baseball bats while Renteria Jr. fired several shots at another man, Frank Rodriguez, injuring him in the leg.

Authorities later arrested Renteria Jr. at a shopping center near North Avenue and booked him into the Mesa County Jail.

Police say the incident is still under investigation.
