GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- On Thursday Chamber of Commerce officials celebrated the groundbreaking of a new Del Taco location.

The Del Taco will be built at 2513 Highway 6 and 50 in Grand Junction.

Officials with Del Taco say they're not only looking forward to bringing the community tasty food to go, but they're also looking to add up to 70 jobs.

"In our economy right now people need jobs. They need something to support them. This is going to be that, both on the part-time side and on the full-time side. Also, it's bringing a new restaurant. It's a fast food restaurant, but it's real fresh food and everything. It's very exciting," said Hugh Mason, manager of Del Taco.

Mason says the construction, plumbing, electricity and any other work being done on the restaurant is being done by local companies.

Construction on the Del Taco has already begun and officials say construction and employee training should be wrapped up by January of next year.
