Grand Junction Welcomes Home Sailor From Overseas

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo-. Friends and family gathered at the Grand Junction Regional Airport Monday afternoon to welcome home Josh Gregg, who had served on two full deployments to the Middle East.

Gregg served aboard the USS McFaul and works with an anti-pirate coalition. This past Spring, Gregg and his team rescued 8 crew members aboard the yacht Rising Sun from a pirate attack.

On his way back to the United States, Gregg was deployed again to Libya in response to the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.

"It means everything (to be home), I mean, this is my family, so it's great," said Gregg.

"We're just happy that he's home. We're so proud of him and the men and women of the military serving our country.," said Josh' mother Vangie Gregg.

Gregg's family tells NewsChannel five, they have a Thanksgiving dinner planned for Monday night to celebrate Josh's safe return to Grand Junction.

WONDERFUL! Would rather have seen a picture of Josh rather than a banner!
