NRA Comments on Gun Control

by KREX News Room
by Associated Press

WASHINGTON- The National Rifle Association, which has been silent since the Connecticut school shootings a week ago, is finally speaking out about their stance on gun control.

The NRA is calling for an armed police officer to be posted in every American school.

The gun-rights organization also says it blames the media for allowing violent culture to come into children's homes.

At a Washington news conference, NRA CEO Wayne LaPierre said, ``The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.''

Gun laws only protect those who follow them. Criminals won't follow them. As for reasonable gun laws, this current administration isn't goingnto promote reasonable anything, they are hardcore leftists who plan on taking guns away. It will start small and seem reasonable but it won't stay that way.

More gun laws are reasonable. We all can own cars, and there are laws regulating how we drive cars. Speed limits, safety requirements etc. Those are reasonable. They don't eliminate deaths, but they do reduce them. Changing the gun laws are just as important.

It's not necessarily a bad idea to have an armed guard at a school, but it really depends on the guard. I would not want TSA-type personnel or locally-trained police. Just having a gun available at school doesn't guarantee anything either, except higher insurance rates. What would make a difference is someone who has experience in urban assault, who thinks in terms of repelling borders, who knows when to shoot and not when not to. That I could support.

Of two signs (below) which would stop criminals at school doors? 1) All weapons prohibited on these premises 2) Staff heavily armed and trained --Any attempt to harm children will be met with deadly force. Any Questions?

Liberals hate to waste a crisis. Of course they don't want teachers armed, or cops armed in the schools. It's a solution to the problem, and they can't have that, it goes againt their agenda. It much better to have everyone fear guns, if that happens it's easier to take them away.

Don't tell the liberals that there are countrys that issue their people guns and train them how to use them, those countrys have very little crime. The liberals might not be able to handle the stress.
