Multiple Crashes Shutdown Portion of I-70

EAGLE COUNTY, Colo.- Multiple crashes in Eagle County temporarily shuts down westbound lanes of Interstate 70.

According to the Colorado State Patrol, just after 9:30 Thursday morning, three passenger cars crashed near mile marker 158, near Wolcott.

Several semi-trucks and passenger vehicles then crashed behind the scene which blocked westbound travel for about four hours.

A total of six semi-trucks, including one tanker carrying hazardous material, were involved, along with five passenger cars.

Nobody was injured.

Officials say despite clear weather, the road was icy at the time of the crashes.
