Mountain Lion Attack has Neighborhood on Edge

by KREX News Room

Monument - A mountain lion attack has a Monument neighborhood on edge.

Residents of the town, located about 20 miles north of Colorado Springs, are keeping a close watch on children and pets after a mountain lion killed a small dog. The dog was coming back inside when the mountain lion struck.

Neighbors in Monument say they've never seen a mountain lion in the area before, but now they're putting up signs to warn everyone. Colorado Parks and Wildlife is determining whether or not the animal is still in the area, and what action to take.

@fucna... Oh really? A friend of mine was killed by a mountain lion, in California, no less. Explain that Mr. know-it-all.

Most of these idiots posting signs are probably scared of their own shadow. Mountain lions DON'T eat people. Your stupid kids will survive. Go back to California if you don't like wildlife!

The signs were posted at the entrance to West Oak Ridge off of south Mitchell Ave/Mt Herman Rd.
