GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- Colorado Mesa University students filled their college's ball room on Sunday, to learn from a motivational speaker and his message on dating.
When Mike Domitrz was in college, he got a call that his sister had been raped.
He says overtime, he saw just how often it was happening among students and wanted to provide tools to college students and teens to help put an end to it.
Domitrz says he has dedicated his life to educating others about the power of verbal consent.
“The greatest moment is when you see the students as they are exiting, saying what they are going to do differently,” said Domitrz. “Changed behavior, which is what we are all here about, to give them positive exercises they can use in their life and they are doing that.”
Domitrz started the 'Date Safe Project' 10 years ago and his message is told to hundreds of audiences each year from young kids to adults, even members of the military.
He typically travels to 70 to 95 cities a year spreading his message.
