Mother Accused of Having Sex With Son's Friend Hears Charges

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- A Grand Junction woman accused of having sex with her son's underage friend, hears the charges against her.

Wendy Crowell, 36, appeared in Mesa County Court Thursday morning.

Prosecutors have filed seven counts against her, six are felonies tied to sexual assault on a child in a position of trust.

Crowell was arrested last Friday.

She is suspected of having sex on multiple occasions with her son's friend, who is between the ages of 15 and 16.

According to an arrest affidavit, the incidents began in June of last year.

The documents show that Crowell was turned in by the victim's mother, who went through the victim's phone and found several text messages between the two.

Crowell will be back in court on March 14.

This is ridiculous the boy enjoyed it he was lucky. We have to stop prosecuting women for this. If it was a man who had sex with a 15 year old girl that would be very different but there is no harm in an older woman seducing a teen boy it's good for them. But bad if it's an older man who seduces a teen girl. It's a double standard but it makes sense. Stop wasting the police hours and court time prosecuting these victimless crimes.
